Configuring Microsoft Outlook Express 6

This article refers to domain names. When configuring your mail client, replace all references to yourdomain.com with the domain you registered at signup.

Setting up a new email account

Screenshot Click the Add button at the right of the Internet Accounts dialog and choose Mail....
Screenshot Enter your name. This is the name that will be displayed on all emails you send. When you are finished, click Next >.
Screenshot Enter your email address in this dialog and click Next >.
Screenshot Use the drop-down box to select whether you would like to access your email through POP3 or IMAP. To better understand the differences, see POP3 and IMAP email explained. If you are unsure, pick POP3. For both incoming and outgoing mail server, enter mail.yourdomain.com. When you are finished, click Next >.
Screenshot Under Account name:, enter your full email address. The password is the password you chose when creating the mailbox. Do not use Secure Password Authentication. When you are finished, click Next >.

Screenshot Once back at the account management screen, highlight the account you just created and click the Properties button.
Screenshot Click the Servers tab at the top of the window.
Screenshot Under Outgoing Mail Server, check My server requires authentication. Click OK to complete your account setup.
