SpamMX™ Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use SpamMX with my Yahoo or GMail accounts or with my ISP's email?
Currently, SpamMX is limited to email addresses on domain names you own, which means we cannot provide filtering for external mail services provided by your ISP or a third party. SpamMX works by using a feature of the Domain Name System which tells servers where on the Internet to send email when it's sent to a specific domain name. If you do not own your own domain name, and are using an email provided by a free email service or your ISP, SpamMX cannot filter your mail.
If you receive email through a mail program such as Microsoft Outlook or Mozilla Thunderbird, we have partnered with SpamArrest to provide spam filtering software for your computer. Click here to find out more.
We are currently building a POP3 filtering solution, so please check back with us soon!
Can SpamMX mistake my legitimate email for spam?
No worries! Each day, you will receive a summary of mail that has been quarantined that was not conclusively determined to be either spam or legitimate mail. In this interface, you can deliver messages from the quarantine, whitelist senders, or delete quarantined spam.
Only messages with a low probability of spam are marked as quarantined, so you won't need to sort through all of the spam you're trying to avoid reading in the first place to find the message that you were looking for.
I've received a junk message! How do I mark it as junk?
To mark a message as junk, simply forward the email to junk@interkey.net and the message will automatically be analyzed and added to the spam database. We also offer a plugin for Microsoft Outlook to allow you to mark a message as spam or legitimate mail.
How do I find out my ISP's mail servers?
